So now it’s a matter of waiting, and not for Godot. The book is not just written, but all the rounds of edits done, fact checks, and past fielding last minute questions from my publisher. I got a call this morning from my wonderful agent Steve. ”I just wanted to say that your book looks fabulous,” he says.

Steve has stuck it out with me for years now. We had a couple of book proposals that he felt was nearly sure fire to land significant contracts but nothing came of them. Yet he never stopped believing that eventually we would make a sale. It is wonderful to have inspired such belief and support. Turns out I guess that it wasn’t a matter for waiting for Godot after all.

Welcome to my blog! My book, JFK’s Secret Doctor, is shortly to be released. I am pretty excited by this, not surprisingly as I first started work on it in 1993. The book tells the remarkable life story of Hans Kraus, who was a medical pioneer and legendary American rock climber. A big part of Hans’s story was President Kennedy. It was hidden from the American public at the time, but Hans was Kennedy’s secret doctor when Kennedy was president. And the story of Hans’s treatments of Kennedy — and the respect and friendship that developed between the two extraordinary men — had never been told before. It is a story that is not only fascinating in itself, but sheds new and sympathetic light on Kennedy the man and his presidency.

I hope that my book will appeal to anyone who enjoys reading about climbing, adventure, inspirational life stories, medical mysteries, and Kennedy.
