About Susan E.B. Schwartz

When Susan started writing for the adventure/outdoor magazines and media, she made an instant splash, from her first-ever submission to Climbing Magazine, to regular contributions to Rock+Ice, Runner’s World, and Outside. A sought after speaker at book events across the country, including national sponsorship by Patagonia, REI, EMS, 92nd Street Y, and other leading venues, Susan was a Partner to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, on the Board of Directors and Literary Board of the American Alpine Club, and interviewed by leading media, including the New York Times (print/online and video), Boston Globe (front page) and talk shows across the US.

A former scuba instructor and shipwreck dive master in the North Atlantic, Susan is also a rock and ice climber, marathon runner, and snowboarder. A Harvard graduate, Susan lives in Connecticut with her family and might possibly be the leading skateboarding mom in Fairfield County, CT (as in, likely the only one).
