About Susan E.B. Schwartz

When Susan started writing for the adventure/outdoor magazines and media, she made an instant splash, from her first submission to Climbing Magazine, to regular contributions to Rock+Ice, Runner’s World, and Outside. Sponsored for book events by Patagonia, REI, EMS, 92nd Street Y, and other leading venues across the U.S., Susan was a Partner to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, on the Board of Directors and Literary Board of the American Alpine Club, and interviewed by leading media, including the New York Times, Boston Globe (front page) and Emmy talk shows.

A former scuba instructor and shipwreck dive master in the North Atlantic, Susan is also a rock and ice climber, marathon runner, and snowboarder. A Harvard graduate, Susan lives in Connecticut and was possibly the leading skateboarding mom in Fairfield County, CT (as in, likely the only one) who also recently tried surfing.
